MES SBRC Term Grade Input

Blank versions of each grade level report card

Looking up standards & printing out a 'Reporting Standards Key'

For every class that has standards, you can look up and/or print out a 'key' that will define the column header (what's shown at the top of each column in the gradebook when entering grades) and its associated standard.
Ensure you are in the STAFF view (purple).
Click on the Gradebook top tab.
In your list of classes, choose which you want to get the key for and click on it:
Click on Reporting Standards side-tab.
Here you will see the standards for this class.
The ColHdr is the value you'll see in your gradebook when entering grades.
The RptDisplay column is the value that prints out on the report card / the standard's definition.
You can repeat this process for each of your classes by going back to the class list, or click the Next / Prev navigation (triangles) in the top right to go to your next class.

To print this key out

Click the quick print / printer icon in the toolbar.
Click Web Page (HTML):
Right-click and choose Print, or press Ctrl + P.
If you would like to save it as a .PDF to keep digitally, you can choose that as your print option instead of using a physical printer. Select 'Save as PDF' for your printer option.

Entering Term Grades

Ensure you are in the STAFF view (purple).
Click on the Gradebook top tab.
Click on the Scores side-tab.
Choose your Class from the dropdown and ensure your Grade Columns are set to Post Columns - Term. Select the Term to match the term you're entering grades for.
In the gradebook score grid you'll see the standard category and the standard's column header. You'll find these matching column headers in the Reporting Standards Key (instructions found above).
In the grid cell, click to enter your value.
To see what options you have for the values, press Ctrl + L (or go to Options → Lookup).
A popup will show you the scoring value options for that field:
Any time you enter a value into the grid, it is automatically saved. There is no 'save' button, it's a live grid similar to a Google Doc/Sheet. The only exception is comments, which do have a save button.
If you accidentally change a value in a particular grid cell, press Ctrl + K to revert it (or go to Options → Revert Current Cell).

Grade 5 & 6 Overall Grades

Grade 5 & 6 both have an Overall Grade column for the main subject areas (math, ELA, social studies, science) in addition to the standards columns.
These have a different grade scale/options than the standards; use the same lookup function (Ctrl + L) for those options:

Entering Comments

Comments for the report card are found inside the Habits of Mind (HOM) class standards.
To enter or edit a comment, scroll to the end of the HOM standards until you find a column labeled Comment 1 Text.
Click the paper + pencil icon to edit the comment.
In the popup, you'll see the student's name you're entering in the comment form, an open box to enter your text, a character count (you cannot add more than this amount of characters for the comment), a spell-check button, and a save button.

Posting Grades

When you are finished with your grades for the class, click Post Grades.... This takes your gradebook's scores and publishes them to the student's official transcript for use on the report card.
This must be done for each class individually, posting one class does NOT post all of your classes.
If you need to make a change after posting, you can - there is no limit to home many times you can re-post. Click the Post Grades... button again after you made your changes. You can re-post up until the grade posting window end date (set by the office).
If a change is needed AFTER the grade posting window has closed, please contact your office for assistance as they will need to make the change on your behalf.
