Cleaning / Sanitizing Technology Devices & Peripherals

Please see each section type to find your device type in order to verify which cleaning method is applicable.


Apple iPads


Don’t spray cleaner directly ONTO THE DEVICE
Unplug AND TURN OFF THE DEVICE BEFORE CLEANING

You can use the following on an ipad:
  • Do not press hard or scrub as it will remove the protective oleophobic coating on the screen.
  • 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe
  • Windex
  • Lysol/Clorox wipe (case only, not on the screen)


Peripherals (Keyboards, Mice, etc.)

You can use the following on keyboards and mice. Fully unplug the device prior to cleaning and ensure it is dry before plugging back in.
  • 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe
  • Any brand disinfecting wipe
  • Mildly damp cloth with soap or Hydrogen Peroxide cleaning solution


Laptops / Chromebooks

Don’t spray cleaner directly ONTO THE DEVICE
Unplug AND TURN OFF THE DEVICE BEFORE CLEANING
You can use the following on a laptop/chromebook:
Fully unplug the device and ensure it is OFF prior to cleaning and ensure it is dry before plugging back in or turning it on.
Do not press hard or scrub the screen.
  • 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe
  • Windex
  • Lysol/Clorox wipe (shell/keyboard only, not on the screen)


Smartboard (Whiteboard / Projector, type only)


Don’t spray cleaner directly ONTO THE DEVICE
Unplug AND TURN OFF THE DEVICE BEFORE CLEANING

You can use the following on a projector based smartboard screen:
  • Alcohol-free household glass cleaner such as Windex, to clean the writing surface
  • Lysol wipes
  • Do not use any alcohol based cleaner


Smartboard Brand (IFP – TV Based)[6065, 5055, MX Series]


Don’t spray cleaner directly ONTO THE DEVICE
Unplug AND TURN OFF THE DEVICE BEFORE CLEANING
Ensure the smartboard is completely off and unplugged from the wall prior to cleaning.

You can use the following on a IFP smartboard screen:
  • Mildly damp cloth with a dish soap mixture
  • Windex
  • Do not use any alcohol based cleaner
  • Do not use any bleach based cleaner


Clear Touch Brand (IFP – TV Based)


Don’t spray cleaner directly ONTO THE DEVICE
Unplug AND TURN OFF THE DEVICE BEFORE CLEANING
Ensure the board is completely off and unplugged from the wall prior to cleaning. Do not put a lot of pressure on the screen, use a non-abrasive cloth.

You can use the following on a Cleartouch board:
  • 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe
  • Windex
  • Lysol/Clorox wipe (shell/keyboard only, not on the screen)
