Additional Services Information
In addition to creating and managing their core Google Workspace for Education account, we also allow students to access certain other Google services with their Google Workspace for Education accounts.
Google has recently changed their terms and conditions for services outside of their core education services, referring to them as Additional Services. These Additional Services now require annual parental consent to enable them for your child.
You can review the list of additional services and their individual terms of use here. Please review Google’s Workspace for Education Notice to Parents and Guardians for information on the differences between the Core and Additional services, what information is collected and how it can be used and what information is shared. This notice can be found here: https://workspace.google.com/terms/education_privacy/
Your child may have access to the following “Additional Services” in our district with your consent:
Applied Digital Skills
Google Arts and Culture
Google Maps
Google Earth
Google My Maps
Google Bookmarks
Google Chrome Web Store
Google Play Store
Google Public Data
Google Managed Play Store
Google Books
Google Translate
Looker Studio
YouTube (filtered for Education)
Further, we allow students to access additional third-party services with their Google Workspace for Education accounts. Our school administrator enables access to these third-party services with your student’s Google Workspace for Education account, and authorizes the disclosure of data, as requested by the third party services such as to log in with their Google account, save and upload files from their Google Drive using the third party service and access their Google Classroom information such as school work from the third party service
At HPS we have a 1:1 Device Program for students in grades 6-12 where devices can go between home and school for academic use.
Students in K-5 have classroom devices (ipads or chromebooks) that stay within the classroom.
All Students 6-12 must sign and agree to the 1:1 Device Agreement for the 1:1 Device Program, without signing the 1:1 device agreement students will not receive their 1:1 device.
In Hopedale we use a system called Aspen as our Student Information System. It houses all of our student information such as demographic information, contact information, grades, report cards, health information, attendance and more.
